Sun of Hope Village/Orphanage

With our praise to God for His generosity and goodness to our society, we decided to open an orphanage as part of our Jubilee celebration in 2014. In Usa River, Arusha, Tanzania, there were many children who were left orphan due to death of parents or other circumstances. When children are left with extended family to be raised, they are often treated as servants or not treated with dignity and acceptance. Some children were left with grandparents who couldn’t afford them. They were often hungry and neglected.

Sun of Hope opened with 21 children in February of 2015. Now in 2020, there are 50 children residing here.

The grounds include a convent, guest house, children’s facility, four classrooms for pre-school, farm, and bakery. Due to the generosity of many people the complex has developed quickly. Parishes in the USA have started sponsorship programs to allow more children to enter this facility. Sponsors give whatever donation they are comfortable with and choose a child to love and pray for.
